Research Paper Topics - Choosing Top Research Paper Topics

Research Paper Topics - Choosing Top Research Paper TopicsAs a member of the Association of American Research-PhD Dissertation Committee, I have been involved in finding top 5 PhD paper topics for a number of years. In previous years I relied upon the information I gathered from my colleagues and dissertation committee, but in this article I will share some of the ideas I am currently using to make my research decisions.First, I will discuss how I used information I gathered from my dissertation committee to help narrow my topic choices. I would ask each committee member to submit a list of top five PhD paper topics. Then I would look at the list and try to sort through the top ten on a topic basis. After sorting through a few different lists, I have found that my top ten best research paper topics usually follow a pattern.Next, I reviewed the papers using different criteria. One criterion I use is a topic that covers one or more topics. In order to get around the 'topics' part of th e question, I have listed topics below that are pretty general in nature. Some examples are; : Innovation, Personal Development, Research Methods, Information Technology, and Business Continuity Planning. If you are trying to get through a dissertation without getting bogged down in detail, then you may want to choose one of these topics. Then, I would use the criteria of 'is this a good dissertation topic?' and a related criterion is if it is a research topic that I will be able to contribute to. I have found that many PhD dissertation topics are not very well thought out and will be confusing for the reader. Often, they will be writing about a topic that they already know the answer to. So, even if you write a good dissertation topic, there is no guarantee that it will make you very happy. Finally, I also try to include the most recent of the research papers that I read in my Research Paper of the Year list. The research paper of the year is chosen because of the work that it contai ns and how well it fits into my theme for the dissertation. But, as I mentioned above, I look for a topic that I have some knowledge about. So, if a topic is new to me, I will probably look to a different topic. As you can see, the dissertation committee was very helpful to me when I was looking for top topics for my dissertation. If you are in the process of researching and writing your dissertation, then this is a great way to narrow down the topic list to your specific area of focus. Once you narrow down your list, I would suggest that you look at the literature that is relevant to your topic and start to look for connections. In the final analysis, what I suggest is that you spend some time researching the best research paper topics before you put pen to paper. I did spend a lot of time doing this, but it was worth it when I realized that I was a very happy grad student and that I had enjoyed my dissertation. Before writing your research paper, make sure that you are doing the rese arch you need to do. You may find a topic that you love and it will give you a higher grade, but if it is not something that you really understand, then you may not use it in your dissertation. Therefore, use the same research methods that you used when you were researching the top PhD paper topics for your dissertation.
